There are some meals that should be taken before workouts to get the best results. The few I know out of these foods are Grilled chicken breast with vegetables.
Protein smoothie with Greek yogurt and banana also works.

What great preworkout meals would you recommend?

I typically go with white rice and Spam/egg/cheese.

But if you are dieting and want to have consistency, grilled chicken breast and vegetables would be the way to go, every time. Then, I would save the protein smoothie and banana for post-workout.

McDonalds, just kidding. I like to have eggs, and bacon a lot for breakfast. It helps get good nutrition before starting my day. Maybe have a bowl of cereal with it too.

You should avoid eating heavy food before working out. light foods like fruit juice, lean meat, eggs, salad are good to eat before working out. Yo need to eat foods that give you more energy. But you need to avoid excessive sugary food.

Adding a whole-grain works well for me. I also add avocado and eggs, oatmeal with nuts, and sweet potato. I like these meals because they provide complex carbs, protein, and healthy fats, which is good for sustaining our energy.

I will advise you to add chickpeas to your meal before workouts. You can even eat a whole of it. I also found plant based food very helpful. I have tried it and it worked magic.

I think we need lean protein before workouts and that is what Grilled chicken breast with veggies provides us. It's a great choice of a meal for pre workout. I’l also suggest oatmeal with banana.

Those are good combinations. I’m also aware that it is good to eat simple carbs and protein for pre workout. It helps to boost one's energy.

It's not possible to eat heavy foods before working out. I don't think anyone who is serious about his/her workouts would do that. It can lead to discomfort

The point of a pre-workout meal is getting one that ensures you have steady energy and enough muscle performance support.

Knowing this, a great preworkout meal should combine complex carbohydrates and lean protein, and you should eat it 1–2 hours before exercise.

Options like whole grain toast with almond butter and banana or Greek yogurt with oats and berries are both great. They offer a balanced mix of slow-release carbohydrates for sustained energy and the protein you need to help prevent muscle breakdown during your training sessions.

As always, remember to consume drinks with a balance of electrolytes, since you will be sweating them out in the gym.
