Ronald D. Moore is now the showrunner for Amazon’s God of War series, taking over the adaptation of the popular PlayStation game. Moore, known for creating Outlander and Battlestar Galactica, will also write and executive produce the Prime Video series. He steps in after the original creative team, including Rafe Judkins, exited after completing multiple scripts.

Moore’s new role comes shortly after signing a multi-year deal with Sony TV. He had previously worked with the studio on hits like Outlander and For All Mankind. His experience with genre series like Battlestar Galactica and Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams makes him a strong fit for the fantasy-driven God of War.

The series will bring Kratos’ epic journey to life, starting from his revenge against Ares to his transformation into the ruthless God of War. The God of War video game series, launched in 2005, has released seven games across four PlayStation consoles, becoming a fan favorite worldwide.

Cory Barlog, the original game's creative director, remains involved as an executive producer, along with key figures from PlayStation Productions and Sony Interactive Entertainment.

Ronald D. Moore is a force to reckon with in content creation. Leading the team for the God of War series is exciting news. He did a great job in shows like Battlestar Galactica. I think he is capable of bringing Kratos' amazing journey to life on our screen.

I think this man is perfect for the job, considering the level of success he achieved with shows like Outlander. Being in charge of the God of War series on Amazon is a welcome development. He has a record of telling exciting stories.
