Microsoft just announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will drop on Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) for Game Pass Ultimate members at launch. Starting October 25 at 10 AM PT, players can access Black Ops 6, Modern Warfare III, and Warzone via the cloud.
This is a first for the Call of Duty series on Xbox Cloud Gaming, made possible by Microsoft’s recent acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Interestingly, Microsoft had to sell cloud gaming rights for Activision titles to Ubisoft to pass UK regulatory scrutiny, so this cloud launch wasn’t guaranteed.
Players will need a Game Pass Ultimate subscription to enjoy the three Call of Duty games through the cloud. They’ll be playable on consoles, PCs, mobile devices, select Samsung TVs, Amazon Fire TVs, and even Meta Quest. Microsoft says this gives more players access to Black Ops 6 on day one.
Though Black Ops 6 will hit the cloud right away, other major Activision titles like Diablo 4 are still absent from Xbox Cloud Gaming. Black Ops 6 also marks the first Call of Duty to join Game Pass at launch. It will be available on PlayStation, Xbox, and Windows PCs.
For now, keep an eye on updates and multiplayer changes coming based on the feedback from Black Ops 6's beta!
